Numbering in over 400 + varieties, sedum is one of the largest genus of flowering plants in the Crassulaceae family.  They are commonly known as stonecrop. They are found readily in the Northern Hemisphere but also dip into Africa and South America. Depending on temperatures plants can be annual or overwinter delightfully turn into a perennial.
