This is small variety, up to 2" (5 cm) tall and up to 1.6" (4 cm) in diameter, is characterized by its pale grey spines growing on a globular stem. The density of its white spines gives it the illusion of being completely grey, making it very difficult to see the green color beneath. It produces small, pink-white flowers, often considered to be some of the smallest of the cacti. These flowers give way to a bright red, cylindrical fruit that contains several black seeds and also is edible. 

Plant is featured in a 2.5" pot. You will receive a similar plant, shipped semi-bare root.
